According to the Department of Defense Instruction 6055.4. Paragraph E3.2 there are quite a few articles of clothing required to ride a motorcycle on base.

-A DOT Approved Helmet
-Eye Protection
-Foot Protection (No Sandals)
-Protective Clothing - long sleeve shirts, pants and gloves
- Bright Upper Garments (Reflective is required at night)

Parking is definitely an issue in Honolulu and it may stop you from doing certain activities, like snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. Luckily you made the right choice by picking up a bike from Hawaiian Style Rentals and drive right past the “No Entry” sign to enjoy the rest of your day. Plus you don’t have to pay for parking. Hawaii really is better on two wheels!

Since it is not a race a lot of normal folks will be participating and taking it at there own pace. The race starts at 6 a.m. and takes you along the eastern Honolulu coast up to the Windward side. The course will be well marked and  a full lane will be coned off for the riders.
