Operation Bikes for Tikes is a local program created by HSRS with the mission of granting a complimentary bicycle to a lucky keiki. Says Bingham, “We believe that every child deserves a bicycle in their lifetime and the fun memories that come along with them.” He continued, “Each quarter, a child between the ages of 7 to 18, will be picked from PACT’s Teen Program and be gifted with a bicycle.” Added Norma Spierings, fund development and community relations director of PACT, “We are excited at the opportunity to partner with HSRS and feel that this bike program is something that will make a positive impact in a child’s life.” The first child from PACT’s Teen Program that will receive a bike will be scheduled for late February 2015 (date tba), and will include a presentation, a workshop on bike riding safety, and local entertainment.
